Welcome to the MCT Blog. My name is Amanda J Evans. I’m an award-winning Irish author and copywriter and I will be assisting Michael in the creation of this new MCT blog. Each month Michael will be choosing an up-to-date topic and telling a story about it and my job is to get those amazing stories from Michael and transform them into exciting and refreshing blog posts. Michael has amazing stories to share, and it is my pleasure to be able to craft the words that will make them not only immersive, but interesting, educational, and on occasion extremely humorous.
Who Is Amanda J Evans?
As I already mentioned, I am an award-winning, Irish author and I reside in Co. Meath in the Republic of Ireland. I have always had a passion for writing and with the beautiful Irish countryside and amazing history to delve into, I have never been short on material that would inspire. I have a keen interest in Irish folklore and enjoy travelling to various locations around Ireland to view so-called fairy rings and ancestral sites such as Newgrange and the Loughcrew Cairns.
Ireland is full of so much charm and beauty and when Michael approached me to help him with the creation of the content for his website and this blog, I was honoured to be able to help. Through Michael’s insights and my words, it is our aim to bring readers a home from home where they can learn and explore the different locations and stories of Ireland.
With Michael’s tours, readers will get to experience first-hand the wonders that this blog will feature and delve deep into the stories that and see for themselves what makes this wonderful land I am proud to call home, so interesting and loved around the world.
What Are My Tourism Qualifications?
My qualifications are that of a writer and a native of Ireland. I have visited many of the locations on Michael’s tours and know first-hand of the beauty and splendour that awaits. From the Cliffs of Moher to the Ring of Kerry, there is so much to see and do with ever changing landscapes to enjoy.
The Cliffs of Moher are one of my favourites with the spectacular views out over the Atlantic Ocean. Being so high up can be scary but on a clear and sunny day, you won’t ever forget it. The birds, the smell of the ocean, and even the breeze that can at times cut you in two, is worth every moment. I’m also a big fan of the Burren and the barren landscape with its own unique flora and fauna. I’m sure Michael will have a story or two to share about many of the locations in upcoming blog posts.
December Brings Excitement For More Than Just The Children
December is fast approaching and there is an air of excitement as I type this blog post. Both Michael and I are both looking forward to December’s first outing and seeing MCT making its mark on the travel industry. The guests are in for such a treat, and I can’t wait to hear the stories and experiences of those who get to experience what Ireland has to offer. Santa may not be bringing presents, but if you are one of the lucky guests booked on one of Michael’s tours, you’re going to feel like all your Christmases have come at once.
Writing a Book is a Journey Too
The process of writing a book is a bit like taking a trip or going on a tour. The only difference is the tour takes place in your mind. You visualise the characters, their lives, the events that shape them, the places they travel, and so on. A lot of inspiration for my books has come from the beautiful landscape and scenery in Ireland and in one of my books, Hear Me Cry, I created a unique fantasy romance retelling of the myth of the Banshee. It was one of my most enjoyable stories to date and it won the 2018 Dublin Writers Conference Book of the Year Award.
It will be my pleasure to help Michael create a wonderful and inspiring home on the web and one I hope you will continue to explore every month.
Until next time,
Amanda
